Jotas vs ICE

Our #JotasvsICE leadership circle is a space for our active trans and queer Latinx members to help us with strategy, mobilization, and campaign work in 2020. We will lean on their leadership and their lived experiences to sharpen our analysis and get clearer about what role Familia:TQLM should play within our community and within the broader LGBTQ and immigrant rights movements.

Healing & Liberation

The Healing and Liberation program centers the lives of trans and queer famila who have survived incarceration/detention and forced migration. Through the project we will organize leadership retreats in nature where we can disconnect from the toxicity and connect with our amazing selves and each other. We are creating a space where they can detox from the violence that they have endured and work together to envision, organize and create a world that honors their existence and makes cages non-existent.

LGBTQ Border Project

Familia: TQLM in collaboration with Transgender Law Center, LA LGBT Center, San Diego LGBT Center, Black LGBTQ+ Migrant Project, National Immigrant Justice Center, Arcoiris, Jardin and others launched a border project  in 2019 to support LGBTQ asylum seekers with humanitarian, legal, and medical support and build long-term advocacy and grassroots organizing infrastructure along the US-Mexico border.
